Policy Agreement

All current and prospective clients seeking veterinary care for annual physical exams and/or minor illnesses are to read and consent to the following information:

* There is a $75.00 non refundable Scheduling Fee that must be paid within 24 hours of the invoice being received. Once the scheduling fee has been paid, this confirms that the time slot you elected has been set aside specifically to provide medical care to your pet. The balance for services rendered will be due at the completion of the visit. *Please note that the $75 Scheduling Fee only applies if you are within our Service Area. If you are outside of our Service Area there is a $125 – $150 non refundable Schedling Fee that must be paid within 24 hours of the invoice being received.

* If you are unable to keep your scheduled appointment please give AYS 24 hours notice. If you cancel less than 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment you will be asked to pay both the Scheduling Fee and the exam fee (ie wellness, illness) before your next appointment can be confirmed – these fees are non refundable.

* If your pet gets anxious or stressed before/during a veterinary visit and has been prescribed calming medications (i.e. Gabapentin, Trazodone, etc) please ensure that they are given these medications as prescribed on the day of your appointment. If you are unable to medicate your pet, your appointment may need to be rescheduled. If AYS is already at your home and your pet does not tolerate handling, you will be charged the non refundable Scheduling Fee for that visit. We can schedule a new appointment for a future date if appropriate. We reserve the right to deny services to aggressive animals in a house call setting.

*If we are unable to handle your pet, your current appointment will be canceled, you will be charged the Scheduling Fee for that appointment, your pet will be prescribed calming medications, and your appointment will be rescheduled. You may be charged an additional handling fee for future house call visits. Please ensure that your pet receives calming medications as prescribed prior to the next visit. We reserve the right to deny services to aggressive animals in a house call setting.

* We will make every attempt to relax and calm your pet so that he/she is comfortable with us but if your pet requires a muzzle we ask that the owner places the muzzle. Muzzles are provided by AYS if needed.

* Prior to the appointment please ensure that cats are secured in a small room (ie. bathroom) where they are unable to hide under or behind objects. Your appointment may be rescheduled if your cat isn’t in a secured room.

* If your pet has a known and/or documented history of a vaccine reaction we will not be able to vaccinate your pet. We will refer you to a full service veterinary clinic for vaccines.

* Depending on your pet’s health concern(s) or the results of certain diagnostics that have been performed – you may be referred to a full service veterinary clinic, a veterinary emergency hospital, or a veterinary specialist (ie. oncologist, cardiologist, dermatologist) for continued care. Not to worry! We will still be able to offer annual exams and minor sick visits for your pets.

* We aim to process requests for prescription refills as soon as we receive them but they generally take 48-72 hours to process. How soon you actually receive your prescription in hand depends on the delivery method you elect when placing your order through the AYS online pharmacy.

* At this time, we do not work with outside online pharmacies (ie Chewy or 1800-PetMeds, etc). We ask that requests for your pet’s medication be made through our online pharmacy. If you would like to fill your pet’s medications somewhere other than our online pharmacy we are happy to provide you with a written script but we are unable to accept phone calls, faxes, or emails from outside online pharmacies.
